HAA Worldwide
The Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) is dedicated to becoming a truly international alumni community. It seeks to cultivate and support its network of alumni around the world by helping them maintain their engagement with Harvard and create connections with one another.

More than 35,000 of Harvard's 320,000 alumni live outside the United States and are supported by a network of 77 Harvard Clubs in locations around the globe. Through a series of alumni education programs, regional conferences, reunions, and Club activities, the HAA encourages the growth of this global network and helps international alumni remain engaged with their University.

Whether they choose to attend an HAA Global Series academic symposium, participate in an alumni education travel program, or help students and recent graduates find work and study opportunities in their respective regions, Harvard's international alumni are contributing to the University's future while, at the same time, benefiting from Harvard's global reach.

HAA Global Series
The HAA Global Series is a key component of the HAA's efforts to connect with meaningfully with alumni worldwide. Each year, the HAA collaborates with regional Harvard Clubs to produce a worldwide conference, bringing alumni together to participate in academic symposia and learn about important initiatives at Harvard. These events feature a rich mix of social activities and academic endeavors such as panel discussions with Harvard faculty and alumni education travel programs.

The 2006 Global Series event, hosted in partnership with the Association of Harvard University Clubs of Asia, takes place in New Delhi on March 25, 26. Previous Global Series events have taken place in Mexico City (2005), London (2004), and Beijing (2002).

Office of International Affairs
To support its international programming, the HAA maintains an Office of International Affairs at its flagship base in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This office works closely with alumni volunteers around the world to advance University priorities, and to explore new ways to reach out to the growing numbers of international alumni.

International Harvard Clubs
Today, one alumnus in every 10 lives outside the United States, and the HAA international club network is expanding in response to the growth in international alumni membership. Four years ago, the HAA recorded 52 established international clubs. Since then, the number of international clubs has significantly increased. The 2005 Harvard Club Directory lists 112 domestic clubs and 77 international clubs, and plans for additional international clubs are underway. With a total of more than 180 clubs around the globe, graduates around the world have numerous opportunities to participate in Harvard 's future and cultivate meaningful ties with the University and with fellow alumni. Further information about HAA clubs can be found in Clubline, the official newsletter of the HAA's Clubs and Shared Interest Groups office. It provides information for Harvard Club officers, including features on particular clubs and club programs. The articles below are a small sampling of International activities organized by the Harvard Clubs overseas.

Alumni Leadership Conference
Every February, the HAA sponsors an Alumni Leadership Conference (ALC) in Cambridge for domestic and international Harvard Club officers. During two days of alumni-led workshops, panels, and meetings, club delegates have the opportunity to exchange experiences with other club leaders, discuss shared concerns, and attempt to solve common problems, as well as hear from Harvard faculty and administrators. Every club is strongly encouraged to send at least one officer or delegate to the conference each year.

Join alumni leaders from Harvard Clubs around the world for the 2006 ALC, being held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 2, 3, 2006. Alumni panel discussions will address topics including succession planning, ways to bring Harvard to your club (no matter how far from Cambridge you may be), nuts and bolts for smaller clubs, and how your club's demographics influence your work as a club leader.

Keynote speakers include Howard H. Stevenson, Senior Associate Provost for Harvard University Resources and Planning and Sarofim-Rock Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and Reverend Peter J. Gomes, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister in the Memorial Church.

Online registration will be available soon.
